- Reconnaissance Survey: Historic Architecture, Lake Orion Homes In October 2006, the Charter Township of Orion contracted with the Mannik & Smith Group to conduct a reconnaissance-level survey of the 200 most significant and well-preserved historic resources in the township. The goal of this project was to provide a permanent record of historic properties in Orion Township that would serve as a baseline for future planning and preservation. The resulting report is a wealth of information about Orion Township and its historic homes.
