The Friends of the Orion Library are an important group of people who are advocates of the library. Friends enhance and support the library's services to the community. When you join the Friends of the Orion Library, you say YES to your library. What Do They Do? Promote awareness of the library's programs and services. Provide direct financial assistance to purchase new equipment and materials and fund special programs for adults and children. Provide volunteer assistance for library programs and special events. Safety Path Advisory Committee

Safety paths in Orion Township are under the jurisdiction of the Parks & Recreation Department. Recommendations about safety path issues, concerning location, construction, maintenance, etc., are made by the Safety Path Advisory Committee, which meets the second Thursday of the month at 7:15 p.m. at the Township Hall. The committee is assisted by the Parks & Recreation Director and the Township engineering consultants. Members are appointed for three-year terms by the Township Board. Anyone interested in serving on this very important volunteer committee should send a letter of interest, in care of the Township Clerk, to: Charter Township of Orion, 2525 Joslyn Rd., Lake Orion MI 48360.
